The entire movie was quite dark, a little scary for wilhelm and not filled with many funny moments for alan & i. The main message of the movie was very adult focused rather than kid focused, which might have been the intention. As a fan of the cartoon series we were a little disappointed with the last installment. But the boys did enjoy the popcorn. We'll be looking forward to our local theater's FREE summer children's movie series and Toy Story coming out in June, those will suite wilhelm's fancy.<br /></li></ul>our eargle familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09474917442763098749noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3112123992711025157.post-78976951368622742022010-05-17T19:52:00.005-04:002010-05-17T20:31:22.696-04:00a family fun party on the farm<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbtAdEIXIg-apMywJ-dlr_236_5KpRTMQ7p-EpPRJU1jocGjshS3R-Fm9IgzrbR2sNsaTALjE-Xvq_5AMRYnDDsugSvxA0D84YrWM4Q-IxJIA2LGs9h6YKYoy6gb9KkXo1XAoHnZv4HkE/s1600/DSC00751.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; At 9:54 pm (CST) Wilhelm Clarke entered into the world, and changed our lives forever.<br /><br />Three years have come and gone so fast. We've seen him take his first steps, say his first words, and go to his first day of preschool, amongst other things. He is such an <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">energetic</span>, happy little boy, who brightens each day. I can't even begin to imagine what the future holds for him, but i'm excited to see!<br /><br />happy birthday wilhelm clarke, we love you so dearly!<br /><br />**wilhelm wanted to make pizzas for his birthday. as you can see he enjoyed his creation!our eargle familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09474917442763098749noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3112123992711025157.post-64067577935784191682010-01-07T18:02:00.004-05:002010-01-10T13:54:22.243-05:00a first glimpse at baby girl eargle!you heard right its a girl for the ky eargles. after our ultrasound on thursday we were surprised to find out that we would be welcoming a baby girl into our family this May. i'm not exactly sure why it was such a shock, since neither alan nor i have had any overwhelming feelings of one or the other, but it was. wilhelm also went to the appointment with us. he enjoyed seeing his little sister on the screen and waving to her. of course wilhelm still is convinced that she will be named Sherman (his chosen name) but has now added Pumpkin to the beginning to make it a bit more feminine. sadly i'm not sure if we'll be able to fulfill his wishes for his sister's name. when she gets a bit older she'll be grateful to her parents for that executive decision. here are a couple of glimpses of our little darling girl.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEja8hQxvUL_fMqo3FKMo3kF3wX6483W6IO8A2NOQ3KK1qvC7ghELZuVTVJIeVbgT8kxdvRKkFPPnKRyKCDUuazB25y42FjUO4YNLNGMHCL1osg0FBcyXT4X4QBpN0XIiHgexKMKCnjb7Q4/s1600-h/BABY+GIRL1.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; Looking above you can guess, hopefully, what the news is (Alan typically doesn't lay hands on my stomach in pictures), we are expecting eargle #2. as i write today i'm about 4 1/2 months along, expecting an end of May delivery. the first few weeks/months were quite rough this time around with LOTS of sickness and i didn't feel like doing much of anything, except for what i had to do. the blog got a backseat to everything, but now we are in the upswing of the pregnancy and starting a new year so i'm re-energized. in the next few weeks there is a 3rd birthday, a trip to chicago, and of course finding out the gender of baby #2 on 01.07.10. Look forward to sharing with you our happenings. <a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWQJMX2r38jDF4i5G20hDbtL41gseEpUy0ylsvcTMskp4VqQHKkmwCZVO8jYhHbFECRlL6sqA6I4JibRWEPnl8VvgSXcZlInRGq5Vcm2ONDCoYMQAzb5N07IFTNIAKFYS9YEeEcCj7d4Q/s1600-h/nick+the+knome.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWQJMX2r38jDF4i5G20hDbtL41gseEpUy0ylsvcTMskp4VqQHKkmwCZVO8jYhHbFECRlL6sqA6I4JibRWEPnl8VvgSXcZlInRGq5Vcm2ONDCoYMQAzb5N07IFTNIAKFYS9YEeEcCj7d4Q/s320/nick+the+knome.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5421172898782224738" border="0" /></a>Before I loose the opportunity I had to post this. By far this is one of my favorite pics of 2009. Pictured is Nick the Gnome, the youngest son of our friends Joe & Jen in Chicago, on Halloween (no they don't regularly dress him like a garden decoration). He was woken from a nap to show off his costume and his mom snapped this beauty of a pic for everyones enjoyment. Thanks for the laugh Jen!<br /><br />Here's wishing you and yours a bright 2010!our eargle familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09474917442763098749noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3112123992711025157.post-10029544589187638422009-10-15T19:57:00.003-04:002009-10-15T20:20:48.393-04:00a look back at four years ago today<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh54FjJpboYALXAx5dNB3kgaM4Y7rS4dSFY88Q7WPTMjqnM92_82TG5RahFj7pKQswc5I5si5E16vxrOpjhpFDrmOC_TtWgF0twMMjhFvg8XHvhDwp1ERwqcj5p4OrMFLy4NN1irDeBJvU/s1600-h/Image016.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 253px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh54FjJpboYALXAx5dNB3kgaM4Y7rS4dSFY88Q7WPTMjqnM92_82TG5RahFj7pKQswc5I5si5E16vxrOpjhpFDrmOC_TtWgF0twMMjhFvg8XHvhDwp1ERwqcj5p4OrMFLy4NN1irDeBJvU/s320/Image016.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5392982054796979234" border="0" /></a>today alan and i celebrate our four year wedding anniversary. i truly knew from the first time i met him that he would have to put up with me for the rest of our lives. i'm so blessed to have such a loving husband who is not only the perfect partner in life, but a terrific father, person, and friend.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgpyU6TQl9XbL4Sc1tbHy1ZGsJRGphU4nBbBtIkqEADtAmy79zCRZIlwTvRrEyEYIvmqnzFIEG1ZRIfVpZQCAxi6cgfkxAyCrZg7ib4RdWPY-PiNrX9eRw-W6F6P44ETJ8kSTPrvhGRYM/s1600-h/Picture+122.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgpyU6TQl9XbL4Sc1tbHy1ZGsJRGphU4nBbBtIkqEADtAmy79zCRZIlwTvRrEyEYIvmqnzFIEG1ZRIfVpZQCAxi6cgfkxAyCrZg7ib4RdWPY-PiNrX9eRw-W6F6P44ETJ8kSTPrvhGRYM/s320/Picture+122.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5392986008168210178" border="0" /></a>our eargle familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09474917442763098749noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3112123992711025157.post-22184476468925510682009-09-27T21:56:00.005-04:002009-09-27T22:47:24.323-04:00a day at the museum<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWO94Cu-MUiNoeff4QrCVcbV8lYUoIsb0ONCNH3D0vr-pIqYXPinaRJ6stuYpsuF6Catg35bk8NnQJ_xQ1Tv6TCVZ56TJANx21mYSPyCg8bzk9VBhW11LMK5abBwXpXIONIncqlfBcDS4/s1600-h/big+bat.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWO94Cu-MUiNoeff4QrCVcbV8lYUoIsb0ONCNH3D0vr-pIqYXPinaRJ6stuYpsuF6Catg35bk8NnQJ_xQ1Tv6TCVZ56TJANx21mYSPyCg8bzk9VBhW11LMK5abBwXpXIONIncqlfBcDS4/s320/big+bat.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5386333048683885346" border="0" /></a>If you live in Louisville, near Louisville, or ever visit Louisville, one attraction you have to take in is the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory. Well I qualify for all of the above, and this past Saturday was my first visit to see the world's largest bat (please see picture above) and where the official bat of Major League Baseball is made.<br /><br />For the past few months when I ask Wilhelm where he is going (if he is just aimlessly walking around or we're playing pretend) he'll respond by saying, "i'm going to work."<br /><br />So I follow up with the questions, "What do you do?"<br /><br />And he says, "Uh, I'm a baseball player. I hit the balls."<br /><br />Therefore, Alan & I are convinced, or maybe praying, that he is the next child prodigy and will someday be in the major leagues himself. We thought since the Smithsonian was offering FREE admission to the museum Saturday it would be the ideal time to go, and continue to nurture the seed (dream) that has been planted in our offspring.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOcztOGae_7YtC6q1UBDBMIiLu6L87nFAxUCKVKE9ABwX8WF9OgLTBsSUh6uTD-PR5QuAO2gfswvXnP0YpYwiZ23bWf6scHSD6ajWAkuZc5v1Dz2192ykeYCxio1d8EC3PqCWRPnaXc_w/s1600-h/ace+%26+wce.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 227px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOcztOGae_7YtC6q1UBDBMIiLu6L87nFAxUCKVKE9ABwX8WF9OgLTBsSUh6uTD-PR5QuAO2gfswvXnP0YpYwiZ23bWf6scHSD6ajWAkuZc5v1Dz2192ykeYCxio1d8EC3PqCWRPnaXc_w/s320/ace+%26+wce.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5386333057773368802" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXH7OaiDz65KmA4G6HJQt_FjsvxdGl8P3Mrd70gfon62AwC0yPGZFD8do-T6q1RuBQZlUlqrdiDH4mCt8DoViW3yAhMlAA2NudYHcRXb3BJ_TocSR3Kr5L5GCZ946iYmpaV3r_7gn-g8s/s1600-h/silly+face+by+bat.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 206px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXH7OaiDz65KmA4G6HJQt_FjsvxdGl8P3Mrd70gfon62AwC0yPGZFD8do-T6q1RuBQZlUlqrdiDH4mCt8DoViW3yAhMlAA2NudYHcRXb3BJ_TocSR3Kr5L5GCZ946iYmpaV3r_7gn-g8s/s320/silly+face+by+bat.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5386334457840245826" border="0" /></a>After picking Alan up from the airport, returning from The Great American Beer Festival, we headed downtown and hung out outside by the world's largest bat & took some pics. Alan's first father's day we gave him a book with bizarre national landmarks to take road trips to, this book included the Slugger bat. We've done a pitiful job taking pictures next to any of the featured landmarks during our travels, but i vowed (as i always do!) this is the start of something that we will do from this point forward!<br /><br />The day included a short movie, factory tour and time in the museum.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVB5hkJnM0Uda2F-nw_jfxJKa-Sum1gnvrj4jH2K4SIA83FGS4TqszGtV2wv_7vm9bxoBMjysROuaJP7d0f6f3AgJBOUapi1abavwUvV3qUohD8aj0y64L8viX4ulxoezriHbOfH3Oxwk/s1600-h/in+museum.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 211px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVB5hkJnM0Uda2F-nw_jfxJKa-Sum1gnvrj4jH2K4SIA83FGS4TqszGtV2wv_7vm9bxoBMjysROuaJP7d0f6f3AgJBOUapi1abavwUvV3qUohD8aj0y64L8viX4ulxoezriHbOfH3Oxwk/s320/in+museum.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5386333064556488354" border="0" /></a>This is Alan's amazing hand pointing to his childhood idol, Cal Ripken Jr., name on the museum's hall of fame wall of signatures. An absolutely legal thing to do.<br /><br />Below is a picture i snapped in the factory, a slightly frowned upon thing to do, but i couldn't pass up the opportunity to capture something from the most interesting part of the day. This is where they store the pieces of wood & bats for major league players. From my hip i inconspicuously took this shot (which includes a Cubbie for all my Chicago friends). I tried to break the rules a few more times, at stations throughout the factory (it truly was neat.) but Alan informed me that he didn't want to get kicked off the tour. I'm still not convinced that they would have kicked me out, especially if i had summoned Wilhelm to cry, but i decided to keep the peace and put my camera away.*<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBOKMnJUjmsWrVPrCKbOxNiiaDjb0s2Xx6fitZwkrhu1Dj76SZEfym2sQST45eb1OaRx4Yo7FpJCJEFmDYp4-wn8Jhm-Gb0HtVs67ha9bWeyLVACOYVsdmFZuw2uc1h0C92b5SMaT7ulQ/s1600-h/IMG_2081.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 174px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBOKMnJUjmsWrVPrCKbOxNiiaDjb0s2Xx6fitZwkrhu1Dj76SZEfym2sQST45eb1OaRx4Yo7FpJCJEFmDYp4-wn8Jhm-Gb0HtVs67ha9bWeyLVACOYVsdmFZuw2uc1h0C92b5SMaT7ulQ/s320/IMG_2081.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5386339435521057074" border="0" /></a>*To clarify the tour guide stated that they didn't want pictures taken because they may distract the workers. At this location there were no workers, and that day there was just a skeleton crew working anyway.<br /><br />After our tour this was Wilhelm's opportunity to show his stuff. He LOVED the batting cage. We are currently in planning for how to construct one of these in our house or at least somewhere on the property.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgao4YurdBFMVHa6iqlZZdT7UU7jmuYTTPKxj3QmdcALvH1_75NnAludew0oUNeNAm8L6wLTdDREbbgiwoXlMHrJ7WsdtgCLhC3tiTWPZmkxmACkFoJA8KImogleLKSaEBYD1hdvS0WJaM/s1600-h/batting+cage.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgao4YurdBFMVHa6iqlZZdT7UU7jmuYTTPKxj3QmdcALvH1_75NnAludew0oUNeNAm8L6wLTdDREbbgiwoXlMHrJ7WsdtgCLhC3tiTWPZmkxmACkFoJA8KImogleLKSaEBYD1hdvS0WJaM/s320/batting+cage.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5386334469272704914" border="0" /></a>By day's end he was exhausted and so were we. Actually ESPN college game day was there and we had front row seats to watch (check out the picture below, which includes one super awesome Bob Knight).<br /><br />in addition to a great game it was prelude by a babysitter for wilhelm a trip to one of our favorite sushi restaurants, and a trip to the game in our own private bus (see below). BTW we aren't the type of family that feels the need to coordinate our outfits, like a special family reunion shirt, but instead were taking part in the Coaches vs. Cancer weekend with our OUT LIVE shirts.<br /><br />we are already looking forward to our next trip down south to visit family!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI6ijQe1-Zoz1iICh2jcerbADA4gEV2UFNjz32KXVZS7d9byGolhVOCa29PogjuICkvbuG_T4liQvm6VbpVjIDrpjkYpAJsdnpI-2_4RTroKyFFeSoqDroUymC0WxfdeYPPoWR1uVfesE/s1600-h/IMG_1336.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 227px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI6ijQe1-Zoz1iICh2jcerbADA4gEV2UFNjz32KXVZS7d9byGolhVOCa29PogjuICkvbuG_T4liQvm6VbpVjIDrpjkYpAJsdnpI-2_4RTroKyFFeSoqDroUymC0WxfdeYPPoWR1uVfesE/s320/IMG_1336.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298393567254195522" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBQUpejNxOAj0tDdCn-A2TXRgEWckm4bpeLqENVrp2OodjBQxqzfvUQl-ssaKJzb5_NTSKE3XEjdZAsLY4nlVvKe6yo3mTbQWT-irKIfdsj0qoFOZT68Pr92Ja0F3BJqh9nCnbiqD6TTI/s1600-h/photo.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBQUpejNxOAj0tDdCn-A2TXRgEWckm4bpeLqENVrp2OodjBQxqzfvUQl-ssaKJzb5_NTSKE3XEjdZAsLY4nlVvKe6yo3mTbQWT-irKIfdsj0qoFOZT68Pr92Ja0F3BJqh9nCnbiqD6TTI/s320/photo.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298394234350315378" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6cgtH5Y7m667NPdyrntV7PcX9Yw4h4BRbQjqDVVT1j3_BQlbcW6ppvpAYFaJtuo_TPm6j1-fiwu8v3DSrnRirH-ibg4uR5gZXb3vuDTFPG4P4NR4jmZunT0X0rQI7vAWqsUDTA0au9Lc/s1600-h/IMG00033.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 242px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6cgtH5Y7m667NPdyrntV7PcX9Yw4h4BRbQjqDVVT1j3_BQlbcW6ppvpAYFaJtuo_TPm6j1-fiwu8v3DSrnRirH-ibg4uR5gZXb3vuDTFPG4P4NR4jmZunT0X0rQI7vAWqsUDTA0au9Lc/s320/IMG00033.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298393570326896578" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV57me0xP5UfI13tiOJas3DoulYdH_iXZnzdZ0Zi4STQuDHkEy-TVxSJFhmfdWWeCrShw9ul5ZPU4VGC2m-AgZwOmxLoR_nxyd_Jmz0mnSZsSfwmvQJK4i4TpW0DcO3_TqLjK42uyQGpY/s1600-h/IMG_1330.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV57me0xP5UfI13tiOJas3DoulYdH_iXZnzdZ0Zi4STQuDHkEy-TVxSJFhmfdWWeCrShw9ul5ZPU4VGC2m-AgZwOmxLoR_nxyd_Jmz0mnSZsSfwmvQJK4i4TpW0DcO3_TqLjK42uyQGpY/s320/IMG_1330.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298393567460060482" border="0" /></a>our eargle familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09474917442763098749noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3112123992711025157.post-32150583545705686282009-02-02T17:39:00.003-05:002009-02-02T17:54:38.373-05:00ITS GROUNDHOG DAY!!!!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiF4Ar1C4OMMO1gz8J7srweoilVAsMHdBFlpUfprmkx-GFjkJx_PQ3kmoTzHwrkYYe3Wnfy-HwRisp2mklJYhnJJVNgPnezQAocZVUXDmaTCI_n6xOu8hpBS7CCH-fYMfSn2pdpzw235kQ/s1600-h/ground-hog-day.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 274px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiF4Ar1C4OMMO1gz8J7srweoilVAsMHdBFlpUfprmkx-GFjkJx_PQ3kmoTzHwrkYYe3Wnfy-HwRisp2mklJYhnJJVNgPnezQAocZVUXDmaTCI_n6xOu8hpBS7CCH-fYMfSn2pdpzw235kQ/s320/ground-hog-day.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298334732351031202" border="0" /></a>every year when groundhog day (GHD) rolls around i find myself with a smile. i think it's that i'm reminded fondly of the years i spent in grade school and the grand GHD parade/events that we would celebrate on this day. it was wonderful! there were floats made by each grade level where the GHD day prince & princess would ride, the band would play, sixth graders did a special groundhog hop dance around the gym (basically the bunny hop, but a HUGE right of passage once you arrived at that grade level) and most importantly it was an assembly so you missed class. what a great time, what great memories.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5eGQliso1lDWgVPNIoZD5I5HzrZZO89kzYe9flugVsdDgc0qWzaUUtmEyCZmymfVSCBXw0sbEWk1LVzbsMzlZNsza5fpmPYOkKgEaQC4fR9It8kAQjNSML6Rc0npnOPgOT5SLENnrifs/s1600-h/big_bill_in_groundhog-731047.gif"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 260px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5eGQliso1lDWgVPNIoZD5I5HzrZZO89kzYe9flugVsdDgc0qWzaUUtmEyCZmymfVSCBXw0sbEWk1LVzbsMzlZNsza5fpmPYOkKgEaQC4fR9It8kAQjNSML6Rc0npnOPgOT5SLENnrifs/s320/big_bill_in_groundhog-731047.gif" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298337018869233330" border="0" /></a>i also recall on this day a very funny Bill Murray classic, <span style="font-style: italic;">Groundhog Day</span>. its my mission each GHD to find it playing on basic cable and watch it. still laughing, after all these years, at the same stuff!<br /><br />enjoy your GHD 2009!our eargle familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09474917442763098749noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3112123992711025157.post-77252701181238827272009-01-28T21:02:00.004-05:002009-01-28T21:05:51.276-05:00a fun toy<div style="text-align: left;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKAi9N6TrhFQnMThyphenhyphengxjAgWOfWB6bj67BD6WDk6CWJD6UpxKN4YKJyTyy3kRkF-kHcg3nFW3AxS7bz-PsaNsVjMQ1h5awRLn-KpU0QZ3X5t-r2RxINQS0qqPWJuCOJgtXl655UEu7zUW8/s1600-h/Potato-Head.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 250px; height: 250px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKAi9N6TrhFQnMThyphenhyphengxjAgWOfWB6bj67BD6WDk6CWJD6UpxKN4YKJyTyy3kRkF-kHcg3nFW3AxS7bz-PsaNsVjMQ1h5awRLn-KpU0QZ3X5t-r2RxINQS0qqPWJuCOJgtXl655UEu7zUW8/s320/Potato-Head.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296530728424421298" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHQPbk77Ayl8InwS0vb06KSfg44fUrX9rE8fdX2SXLkbOvfiJenZ9zvis3FdrnrpXW9Zmad77zgPIuu8oZvR9YjPnPuZmbHyFT63kjfFSicj_FfhqOrqi9cNzumQjS5bUo6YmTwm2JhBs/s1600-h/IMG_1318.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHQPbk77Ayl8InwS0vb06KSfg44fUrX9rE8fdX2SXLkbOvfiJenZ9zvis3FdrnrpXW9Zmad77zgPIuu8oZvR9YjPnPuZmbHyFT63kjfFSicj_FfhqOrqi9cNzumQjS5bUo6YmTwm2JhBs/s320/IMG_1318.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296530730423703442" border="0" /></a>i think i see the resemblance. oh, the hours of fun mr. potato head provides us!<br /></div>our eargle familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09474917442763098749noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3112123992711025157.post-7089251001241842622009-01-26T20:41:00.010-05:002009-01-28T21:06:48.127-05:00a delayed birthday post, and some morethe 2nd birthday of our little boy has come and gone, and once again i have managed to be a little tardy on posting to our blog snaps from the day. but i have good reason. i'm not trying to give excuses, but it is relatively legit why this is the first time you are seeing or reading anything about wilhelm's party. let me start from the present and work backwards.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">wednesday</span><br />thats today! wilhelm and i have spent the entire day indoors since the state of kentucky has been declared a disaster due to a major snow and ice storm. we've read lots of books, watched <span style="font-style: italic;">Horton Hears A Who</span> (what a great movie!), talked to friends on the phone, and played with lots of toys.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">tuesday</span><br />i was just lazy and did not take the time to write this post.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">monday</span><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmGusVHPUljF8Em-ukR8E4yfpIZiBuEtnkZHuxGCesGXQ-NPTPr8yF2_Y7GUpdDbxQGhj_bg80XWFUQ4cXLtBL7_o149B_qztTZRTCiEmE90Qm_0vwixcJGvw5wjBMxffKja8NnJJOsxw/s1600-h/IMG_1315.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 239px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmGusVHPUljF8Em-ukR8E4yfpIZiBuEtnkZHuxGCesGXQ-NPTPr8yF2_Y7GUpdDbxQGhj_bg80XWFUQ4cXLtBL7_o149B_qztTZRTCiEmE90Qm_0vwixcJGvw5wjBMxffKja8NnJJOsxw/s320/IMG_1315.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296502245351414626" border="0" /></a>wilhelm enjoyed time with his cousins while my mom nursed me back to health. according to my sunday evening urgent care visit, some how i picked up a not so nice virus. after an absolutely miserable day on sunday, monday was slightly better. but since my medicine seemed to knock me out, mom was to the rescue while alan went to work. typically alan would have just stayed at home, but i couldn't have been sick on a worse day- his busiest day of the month. wilhelm, lily, and hannah had a blast terrorizing our house and keeping gran busy. it was very nice to have my mom to watch over me until my husband could get home and take care of us. i know i was in the best hands possible, but man do i feel absolutely helpless!<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">sunday</span><br />spent the major part of the day paving the way from the bed to the bathroom with extreme nausea. due to the state of my health i wanted nothing more than all the bad feelings to go away so the boys and i headed to the urgent treatment center to wait for a couple of prescriptions. oh happy day!<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">saturday</span><br />we were visited by alan's great friend from college, Drew (he has made appearances in past blog entries). Drew drove down from Dayton, OH, where he lives. he managed to pull away from his incredibly busy attorney schedule to spend some time with our family. we had a delightful time with him and my intentions were to snap some pictures, but after our saturday evening meal i was out of commission. hopefully we will see him again soon and we'll capture some of his fun time with wilhelm.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">friday</span><br />to not break our traveling spree that we seem to embark on each weekend we were headed to mason, oh, to enjoy Great Wolf Lodge. these types of lodges are popping up everywhere these days. for those of you unfamiliar with like establishments, they are indoor water parks. the reason for our trip was to celebrate the 14th birthday of Alan's youngest brother Sam. water parks , in general, are one of alan's favorite things, but the ability to go to a water park in the middle of winter was an amazing experience for him. on the other hand wilhelm wasn't so sure from the start (see picture of him with the bear below) but warmed up quickly. from the water to our cupcake birthday celebration a nice time was had by all.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuSR9KjQcU0AFmMtRkbbkTfSLDF6Zuk5Kf7v7nLhvIG6iZHH06FLnu8kFMbzd3ajCFRB1GaQ-EoU2HB6-4hw_hajg7Zb-9KkdAtSerca1bUmAo1b3niTANoDToRPXlavVF5G2zAyoid5M/s1600-h/IMG_1253.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px;
